Last year it was 21 degrees, we’ll be lucky if we see 3 degrees later this evening. Definitely not time to put those winter woollies away yet. Whilst out for a walk today with hat, scarf, coat and thermals, I was looking around as I walk at all the wild plants in suspension. Bluebells desperately holding onto their blooms and buds on trees staying tightly closed. Do we hold onto things too long sometimes? How many times have you held onto a thought and allowed it to eat into you for way too long? Hypnotherapy can help to unlock those damaged trails of thought patterns and help to create new pathways and fresh outlooks on the walk of life. I don’t know about the rest of you but it was refreshing to see the sun today in the Great British Isles. Although I’d seen it on my holidays last week, you can’t beat a cool spring day with the sun shining and a long walk. Exercise doesn’t have to cost a penny. If you go out for a walk you are surrounded by the most amazing countryside. How many times a year do you go out for a walk? Can you count them on one hand? Put your wellies on, go tread in a few puddles and let the fresh air circulate round your body. If you need more than that to motivate you, give me a call and we’ll get the fitness ball rolling for you. When we don’t see snow we moan about the weather not having seasons and when it snows we blame everything on the weather. Have you ever thought that proper planning means we could be prepared for any situation that we are put in? Would you arrange a dinner party without knowing what your guests like and without having the ingredients? I doubt most would. Think of your next move like one of those dinner parties. You’ve already got the ingredients in you to make that end product. You might need a little help from the professionals but the main ingredient in your life is you. YOU are extraordinary and there is no one else like you, whoever you are. Or are you up and out the door before the alarm goes off, raring to go? I was back to the office today, catching up with appointments I had to postpone before my holiday. Loved catching up with all they’ve been up to and, like a proud Mum, listening to all their achievements so far. I am lucky enough to have a job I love, and most importantly I get to feel proud when I make a positive difference to someone’s life. Have you ever wanted to change careers maybe, become that Lion keeper or boat maker… so many careers are there for the taking. I use hypnotherapy to build up individuals’ self esteem, confidence and even interview confidence. If you feel it’s time for a change and feel you are missing that certain factor to achieve it, just give me a call and I’ll help you get the ball rolling. What it showed was the rallying around of communities in appalling conditions. I watched the antics on Facebook and Twitter develop throughout the night and by late evening when people had been stuck on the Motorway and A roads for several hours, the locals rallied together, even though they did not know each other, to put together efforts to get provisions to the stranded. It reminded me of stories my Nan still tells me of families and neighbours looking after each other. I imagine for those of you reading this that were born in the 80’s or before you can remember the neighbours all knowing each other and stopping to share the time of day. I love the summer, where neighbours appear and conversations continue over the fence. Use the social media to keep in contact, but more importantly don’t forget to go and have a coffee with friends, neighbours and family occasionally. Need that confidence to be able to go out and talk to the neighbours? Then hypnotherapy may help. Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Mother’s Day is a chance for generations to get together, or maybe a time to reminisce about those no longer with us, who still hold a place in our hearts. I see a piece of each of my family in me. I have gained the cheekiness of my Dad and unfortunately his terrible one-liner sense of humour. From my Mum, that sense of caution. Maybe in the future I will even learn how to give the ‘LOOK’ that only a parent can give a child. Family and friends are like heart-beats. Each helps to form a solid life energy spurring us through dark days, and empty nights. Our friends may change over years, but our family is always there, listening and advising. As Alex Haley once said, “In every conceivable manner the family is a link to the past and a bridge to the future” Let’s enjoy that crossing. And even if we have to look back to remember those left behind on the bridge of time, remember we’re just showing them how the lessons they taught us will be carried in our hearts forever. "You’ve got to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you’ve got, and remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget. Learn from mistakes, but never regrets" ~ unknown What are your views on social media? Do you wake up in the morning and check what the weather is doing before opening the curtains? Or have a quick peek at Facebook to see what everyone is up to? I will admit I would probably be lost without most of these web sites. I love to catch up with friends around the world. How would I have ever even have found them without social media? What about all the things that we put on these sites? Only put on what you would say to someone in person. Stuff on the Internet remains there forever. I love to make people laugh, question things and enjoy life to the max. If one of my posts hits a note, enjoy and go with it, if it leads you to another question, feel free to ask me. So I will continue to Twitter, Facebook and blog. I hope you stay along for the journey. I may well drag you out for a trip some days, so watch out. Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com How’s everybody’s week been? I hope you’ve had a good one. As usual I’ve had a fun filled one, never quite knowing what’s round the corner type of week. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I promised myself a long time ago if I didn’t like something I’d change it. I also made a promise to myself that I would not judge what I hear from others. Sometimes I go and get things wrong but all I put that down to is a new life lesson. I like to think of my life as on a quite squiggly line, always going to get somewhere, sometimes taking the strangest route on the way. Isn’t that the fun of it though? Have a fantastic weekend. If you get the chance to do something different, grab it with both hands and go along for the ride, barefoot if you like. So what if you get muddy feet? Becky www.beckywells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com Sitting trying to write this blog and wondering where does time go? How many days do we waste busily doing nothing? Or is it a waste? Isn’t that time pottering or going for a walk, just as important as the high paced working life? Just think about some of the most famous discoveries and how they were made. Sir Isaac Newton for example and the famous apple incident. Some of our greatest ideas come to us when we’re busily minding our own business. So take time out and let the world pass by, who knows what you might discover? Becky www.BeckyWells.com 07801 941949 becky@beckywells.com After seeing a couple of clients today, it reminded me why I think I am good at what I do. With all my clients, whether they are hypnotherapy, Personal Training or sports massage clients, I try to put myself in their shoes, so to speak. No I don’t have some strange foot fetish before you start to wonder, I mean in the metaphorical sense. Let’s take, for example, a highly skilled executive that comes to see me. When I first met him he came across as bold, confident and sometimes quite abrupt. What I might find underneath is an unconfident introvert inside an extrovert shell. What I try to do with my skills is unravel the layers of protection that have been built up, a bit like an onion with its outer layer thickened by the environment. I help take the layers off one by one until I reach the centre, then, and almost as important, I help them to use those layers to make something even better. So if you would like a hand unpeeling that onion, I have the utensils to give you a hand. I’ll even give you a tissue if it makes your eyes water. As we know teardrops are made of 1% water |
